I run a CT business and order food from a variety of places for presentations. I generally have mixed to moderate expectations given the difficulty of consistent food, presentation, quality, etc. performance. I have visited many famous bakeries in NYC. It's very difficult to match a place like Modern in Hartford, Mike's Cannolis in Boston's North End, or Black Hound, Martine's, or Silver Moon in NYC. Meriano's is an Italian (family-owned) bake shoppe. It's cannolis, muffins, tarts, various cookies, pies, cakes, etc. Meriano's isn't at the level of world-class, but for Guilford and the local region it's a gem. What is clear is that they take great pride in their work. We recently ordered $100+ worth on a short-notice and were very pleased. Our client loved the pastries. Keep it up! We will be back. Recommended.
best cannoli i have ever tasted, i had the oreo connoli with a chocolate shell
Imaginative pastries that could get 5 stars if done properly. Problem is, they all just taste like pastry. I had a nutella cannoli and instead of tasting like nutella, it tasted like a regular cannoli. Not a great cannoli either with that gritty, cheesy mascarpone, just your average sweet one. If they were priced more reasonably I may have returned them a star, but I don't see myself coming back.
